Learn about my mission to help investors never miss important stock movements
It started with my watchlist. Dozens of promising stocks saved across different broker apps. But I barely looked at them. When I did, I just skimmed: current price, maybe the chart. Too many entries. No context. Was Nvidia still cheap at $130, or had it already run too far? I had no plan for when to buy or sell. My watchlist had become a graveyard of good intentions.
The missed trades started piling up. AMD dropped 15% in March 2023. I had it on my watchlist with a mental note: "buy below $90." It hit $82. I found out two weeks later. Tesla's post-earnings dip? Missed it during a work meeting. Novo Nordisk breaking out above its 200-day moving average? I was on vacation, not checking charts. Each time the same story: the opportunity came and went while I wasn't looking.
I tried fixing it. Yahoo Finance alerts: delayed by hours, sometimes days. TradingView: powerful, but I needed a $40/month plan for SMS, and the interface felt like a cockpit. My broker's app: push notifications that got buried under spam. Bloomberg Terminal: not an option at $24,000 per year. I wanted something in between. Simple rules, real-time alerts, reasonable price.
So I built it myself. Started as a Python script running on my laptop. Then a proper backend. Then a web interface. Friends asked for access. Then friends of friends. Now it's StockAlert.pro. Set your rules. Get notified by email or SMS. That's the whole product.

"I built StockAlert because I was tired of missing opportunities while staring at static watchlists."
